Run an Armory Event

OP Pathway - Armory Event

Armory Events are the core of any stores Flesh and Blood Calendar. Here are a few key points:

  • Armory Events can only be run once per week (if you miss a week you can't roll it over to the next week).
  • These are considered a casual level event.
  • GEM Packs support 2 months of play.
  • You do not need a qualified Judge to run an Armory event.
  • TO's are allowed to play in their own Armory events.

Formats

Armory Events can be run using any of the following formats.

  • Blitz - 30 min per round
  • Booster Draft - 30 min per round
  • Classic Constructed - 50 min per round
  • Sealed Deck - 30 min per round
  • Ultimate Pit Fight - 50 min per round
  • Commoner - 30 min per round
  • Shapeshifter Sealed - 30 min per round
  • Blitz Preconstructed - 30 min per round
  • Living Legend - 50 min per round

All Flesh and Blood matches are best of one.

While we recommend Draft and Blitz as Armory formats, talk to your community about what events they want to see. During the course of year the formats of higher level events will change and players will want to follow the different formats.

Running your event

Step 1 - Create your event in GEM. Creating your event will allow players to register for it online and in-store. It will also appear in our Event Locator

Step 2 - Contact your distributor to get GEM packs or OP material (while stocks last).

Step 3 - Advertise your event. Make sure your store profile is updated with all your social media. To further advertise your events you can find official images on the Marketing Assets page.

Step 4 - Enter your players into GEM, run the event and give out prizes!

GEM PACKS 1

GEM Packs

How to Use GEM Packs:

GEM Packs must be used to support in-store play. Armory Events should be prioritized for the use of GEM packs, however as part of this change we are offering greater flexibility to stores. Surplus GEM Packs may be used to support a range of events and player engagement, including On Demand and Learn to Play events.

Prize Distribution

  • GEM Packs prioritize rewarding in-store participation over performance. Everyone who plays has the same chance to open the chase cards, better incentivizing casual players to join in-store programs.
  • GEM Packs contain chase cards, including Marvels and extended art cards, making every pack exciting to open!
  • Prize support for stores scales with the size of communities. Stores with large communities and engagement metrics (and those which grow over time) can get additional GEM Packs.
  • Each standalone booster set season will have a GEM Pack crafted around the theme of that season. The Hunted Season that runs Feb-May contains cards related to the themes featured in The Hunted.

The first wave of GEM Packs will be available in stores from February 1, 2025
