Stores are free to add any additional prize support they deem necessary.

Dates

What is the event window?
3PM local time Friday September 13 - Monday September 16, 2024.

Events can be sanctioned now!

Is there any flexibility on the event dates?
Events cannot start before 3PM local time Friday September 13 and we strongly recommend that they are hosted across the advertised Pre-Release weekend.

If you have any unforeseen delays which prevent the event from being hosted as planned or wish to discuss running your event at a later date please contact op@fabtcg.com for further assistance.

How will I know if my store is selected for Rosetta Pre-Release Weekend?
Stores will receive an email invitation to notify them that sanctioning for Pre-Release is open. The Rosetta Pre-Release type will appear in GEM when creating a new event.

There will be two waves of invitations for this event going out.

  • The first wave will be from June 17 and stores will have until June 30 (Local Time) to sanction their events in GEM.
  • The second wave of invitations will be sent shortly after round one sanctioning closes.

If you have not been selected as part of the Wave 1 event solicitations and would like to express interest in hosting an event, you can complete this form to provide us with your details. Please note that Wave 2 invites will be limited, so completing the form does not guarantee that you will be able to host an event.

Event Structure

How many prize kits will I receive?
Stores will be notified of their kit allocation in the invite email for Pre-Release. The number of kits allocated will be dependent on your Organized Play activity.

Will this allow me to run multiple events?
No. You can only run one Pre-Release event during the event weekend. Each kit supports 16 players, if you receive two kits then it will support you running up to a 32 player event.

I believe my prize kit allocation is too low. What can I do?
If you believe your allocation is too low we are happy to look into this but we cannot guarantee you will get additional kits. Email us your request to op@fabtcg.com.

Is there a minimum number of players to run this event
Pre-Release events need a minimum of 4 players to run.

Is there a maximum number of players?
Your player numbers will be determined by the number of Pre-Release kits you receive. One kit supports 16 players. Each additional kit will support another 16 players.

How long should I budget for a Pre-Release event?
The standard length for a Sealed Deck round is 30 minutes + 5 minutes for start of game procedure. However, you may set the round length at your discretion based on how experienced your players are. This is a new set and players will be unfamiliar with many of the cards. You should set an appropriate round length to ensure that the event runs in a timely fashion but also allows players to reasonably complete their matches.

Suggested Event Structure
Prize Kits needed Players Swiss Rounds
1 8 3
1 9 - 16 3-4
2 17 - 32 3-4
3-4 33 - 64 3-4

As Pre-Release events are casual events, we would recommend running 3-4 swiss rounds to give players a chance to experience the new cards and set.

Please note that for events with a larger number of players, 3-4 rounds will result in players with similar win/loss records, and this should be considered when planning any optional booster prize support which stores may wish to offer.

Prizes and Distribution

How is the Pre-Release kit going to be supplied?
The Pre-Release kit will be supplied by your distributor, please contact your sales representative to ensure that your store is eligible to order.

What is in the kit?
The Pre-Release Weekend kit is designed to provide participation prize support for up to 16 players.

Each player receives a Rosetta 10-card Pre-Release pack which includes:

  • 1 random equipment (Rainbow Foil) Promo Card (11 different variants)

During Pre-Release events players are able to use the promo cards from their Pre-Release pack in their games.

Booster Boxes - Sealed Deck and Prize Support

Please note that Rosetta Sealed Deck format uses 8 booster packs per player and as such stores will need to order more boosters to run their events than you may be used to.

How do I order product to support the Sealed Deck play at my Pre-Release?
For every prize kit allocated to you by Legend Story Studios you will be able to order six booster displays of Rosetta from your distributor for Sealed Deck play at your event. For example, if you receive two prize kits you will be able to order 12 booster displays of Rosetta. In this example, it would support Sealed Deck play for up to 32 players.

Will there be booster pack prizes for Rosetta Pre-Release?
Stores will be able to order booster prize support from their distributor. Stores will be able to order two additional booster displays of Rosetta per Pre-Release kits allocated to their store.

Ordering this prize support is optional. Stores can take less than their allocation or none at all.

Pre-Release Kit Allocation Booster Displays Required Optional Prize Support Total Pre-Release Stock Allocation
1 6 Displays 2 Displays 8 displays (2 cases)
2 12 Displays 4 Displays 16 displays (4 cases)
3 18 Displays 6 Displays 24 displays (6 cases)
4 24 Displays 8 Displays 32 displays (8 cases)

How do I distribute optional Booster Pack prizes?
Distribution of this optional booster pack prize support is at the discretion of individual stores. We recommend that stores clearly advertise the prize support for their events before and during the Pre-Release Weekend. Please note that Rosetta boosters must not be sold under any circumstances prior to the official street release date (September 20). Stores will not receive their regular Rosetta booster stock from distributors until the week of release.

Rules and Policy

Are Judges required for Pre-Release events?
Judges are not required, and we do not provide Judge support for these events. However, Judges bring many benefits to your event. If you have access to one we would recommend having one in attendance.

What happens if there is a rules question that I cannot answer?
Release notes for Rosetta will be available before Pre-Release weekend. If you are unable to answer a question after referring to the notes, just try your best to make a ruling that is fair to both players. Ultimately, we view a Pre-Release as fun/casual event, so a positive player experience should be the main goal.

Coverage

Events such as Pre-Release also give you the opportunity to share your store and local community with our team and the wider Flesh and Blood community. We invite all stores hosting Pre-Release events to fill out the Rosetta Pre-Release Coverage Form to provide us with coverage information for your event.

We're primarily looking for: Photo of the Winner and Runner Up, general event photos, and interesting or unique stories about the day.

Please note we cannot feature every store that provides coverage information, but we greatly appreciate any and all information stores can provide for our recap pieces. We look forward to hearing your stories! If you have any questions about the form or want to submit additional information, please email the team at coverage@fabtcg.com.

Selling Product

If my event doesn’t sell out, am I able to sell the spare boosters/booster boxes from my optional prize support?
Any remaining unused/spare boosters/booster boxes from your optional prize support must not be sold under any circumstances prior to the official street release date, or distributed as prizing at any events outside of the Pre-release events prior to the official street release date.

Final Words

Pre-Release events are casual events and a chance to introduce new players to the community. When you are running and judging events, please be friendly and polite towards players and encourage them to act in the same way.

If there are rules breaches, we would encourage you to assume good faith on behalf of the players, do your best to correct the game state so the match can continue, and use the situation as a learning opportunity to teach the players about the game. The overall goal is for everyone to have fun exploring the new set, and anything that you can do to make the event a great experience is much appreciated.
