ELIGIBILITY
All countries which hosted a National Championship in 2024 will be eligible for admission to the Team Cup.
The Team Cup is an invitation only event. All players need to pre-register for the event. Players can qualify for the Team Cup in the following ways:
- Obtaining an invitation through a National Championship event.
- National Champion (1st Place in National Championship) – Team Captain
- National Finalist (2nd Place in National Championship)
- Obtaining an invitation as the Highest Ranked ELO Overall rating in their country.
- Highest Ranked Elo (Overall) rating, on their National Leaderboards, not already qualified for the Team Cup through National Championship placement above.
- Ratings-based invitations will be issued based on standings as of Tuesday, September 3, 2024 at 11:59 pm PDT, directly following the end of the Part the Mistveil Organised Play season.
- To qualify for a Ratings-based invite, a player must have competed in at least 5 Elo-rated matches in the previous 90 Days (From June 5, 2024 - September 3, 2024).
- Ratings-based invites do not pass down and are valid only for World Championship: Osaka.
TEAM COMPOSITION
- If a player is unable to attend World Championship: Osaka, the National Champion can replace them with another World Championship qualified player from their country. Player must already be qualified through their own means, or through a redemption or transfer of a Professional Tournament Invite (PTI).
- If the National Champion does not attend the World Championship, the National Finalist will become the Team Captain, and will nominate a replacement through the conditions outlined above.
- If the National Champion and the National Finalist do not attend the World Championship, the Highest Ranked ELO Overall will become the Team Captain, and will nominate replacements through the conditions outlined above.
- In the event that the National Champion, the National Finalist, and the Highest Ranked ELO Overall do not attend the World Championship, the team will cease to exist.
REGISTRATION
- Qualified players eligible for the Team Cup will receive an email, on or around Friday September 6th, 2024, with a link to register for the tournament. Players must complete and submit the registration form in order to be admitted into the Team Cup. The deadline for confirming enrollment into the Team Cup is Monday September 30, 2024. After this date, we will review all qualified teams, and, where necessary, contact Team Captains to confirm the completeness of their team and nominate replacements.
- The final deadline for processing replacement players and confirming team enrollment is Friday October 18, 2024. For inquiries into the status of your national team, please contact protour@fabtcg.com.

TOURNAMENT STRUCTURE
Ranking and scoring for the Team Cup consists of two parts. Performance as a national team during Team Play and Individual Play through the Swiss rounds of the World Championship.
TEAM PLAY
Teams will present three Living Legend legal decks comprised of three different heroes. Teams will assign a player as A/B/C and play against the opposing teams A/B/C.
Teams will earn four (4) points in the Team Cup standings for each Team Play match win.

INDIVIDUAL PLAY
Throughout the Individual Play Swiss rounds of the World Championship, representatives from each national team will be competing for both themselves and their country.
Each individual win in the World Championship will award one (1) point for their national team in the Team Cup standings.

TEAM PLAY SWISS ROUNDS
Swiss rounds are best-of-one games, where the team that wins the most games, wins the match.
- Swiss rounds are 50 + 5 minutes in duration (50 + 5 means there are 5 minutes allocated for the start of game procedure. Players must have presented their deck and revealed their equipment and weapons within this 5-minute window. If both players complete the start of game procedure in less than 5 minutes, they may begin playing their match immediately.)
TEAM PLAY KNOCKOUT ROUNDS (TOP 4 PLAYOFFS)
- Knockout rounds are single elimination, best-of-one games, where the team that wins the most games, wins the match.
- Knockout matches have no time limit. Players are expected to play at a reasonable pace and Slow Play penalties will be enforced.
- For each Knockout match, the team that finished higher in the Team Cup Standings chooses to play first or second.
DECKS
- Living Legend Decks must be Living Legend legal as defined by the Card Legality Policy.
- Deck registration must be done PRIOR to the start of Team Play Thursday
- Deck registration must be done using full English card names only and be clearly legible.
- The official Deck Registration Sheet is available here.
- Players may not change their registered deck during the tournament.
- Deck checks will be conducted by event staff throughout the tournament.
- It is the responsibility of each player to ensure there are no distinguishing marks or patterns on their cards or card sleeves for the duration of the tournament. Vendors will be onsite to purchase sleeves if required.
PRIZES
The Team Cup will feature $60,000 USD of cash prizes, PTIs for the Top 4 teams, and inscription into the Team Cup for the Champions!
