Week 2 is done and dusted, meaning Zen, Briar, and Dash have had their final rides in Blitz! The landscape of both Living Legend and Blitz formats has been monumentally shifted by this week's Banned and Restricted Announcement, but we've still got one more weekend to go with the current metagame. Lots of fun still being had by all, more Blaze, Fireminds being handed out, and more new faces than ever!
Let's check out some of our favourite moments...
ジョニーのお店 - Japan
"The first Skirmish at our store was held with 12 people. The Top 4 heroes were Vynnset, Rhinar, Kayo, and Enigma. The final round came down to Vynnset vs Rhinar, and Vynnset won the tournament!"
1st: Kazuaki Fukui - Vynnset
2nd: Tomoya Kitagawa - Rhinar
Magicsur - Chile
"It was an honour to host the first Skirmish in our region. Player quotes below."
- "A wish come true to be able to play a Skirmish."
- "Next goal, Battle Hardened."
- "Great event and awesome prizes."
1st: Felipe Loyola - Victor Goldmane
2nd: Carlos Valdenegro - Zen
Spellbound Games - United Kingdom
"We had an extremely varied meta. Out of 22 players, the most represented hero was still Zen, but with only 3 players. Everyone else took everything from less seen heroes, like Riptide, to Blitz staple heroes, like Dash and Briar. The Top 8 having no Zen and some underdog heroes like Vynnset and Dorinthea, Quicksilver Prodigy was extremely refreshing to see. Our turnout was amazing and everyone had a good time, so we really appreciate the opportunity to have been able to run a Skirmish this season. Thank you LSS."
1st: Dmitry Filippov - Rhinar
2nd: Kamil Żerek - Dorinthea, Quicksilver Prodigy
Paladino Hobbies - Brazil
"Paladino Hobbies held Skirmish Season 9 in Living Legend format to give players a glimpse of the heroes who have already retired. With a Top 4 between 3 Starvo and 1 Prism, the Illusionist of Light came out on top."
1st: Gui Landgraf - Prism, Sculptor of Arc Light
2nd: Caio Bal - Bravo, Star of the Show
Neutral Grounds - Philippines
"24 players clashed at Neutral Grounds ATC for 5 rounds of Blitz action! A total of 13 different heroes were represented, showcasing a diverse metagame from the local community. The Top 8 featured a variety of heroes, including representation from all three Brutes: Rhinar, Kayo, and Levia. At the end of it all, it was Raymond Baligaya piloting Kayo that bested the field undefeated. He dubbed his deck the “Zen Killer” as he won all his matchups against Zen in Swiss. Of course, it wouldn’t be a Philippine Skirmish without pizza as the players enjoyed a pizza party in between rounds!"
1st: Raymond Baligaya - Kayo
2nd: Marlon Ilagan - Riptide
