Recap: Pro Quest Season 4, Week 3

Nov 09, 2023 Kasharn Rao

And that's it folks! No more Lexi!

Pro Quest Season 4 has now wrapped up, locking in the invites for next year's Pro Tour: Los Angeles! And while we did see a metagame dominated by arrows and dragons, some true underdogs have finally broken through in the last week.

Dash I/O, Vynnset, Levia, Rhinar, and Boltyn all picked up wins this week! With Lexi out of the picture, and a huge incoming metagame shakeup as a result of the Living Legend Update, these heroes are practically drowning in untapped potential.

And we can't forget the astounding results from Calling: Melbourne! Thomas Dowling's 14-0 Dash I/O deck only lost to Ben Dodd's Uzuri, Switchblade in a gripping finals. Dash I/O is poised to become a breakout star with her insane spike turns, while Ben proved beating Dromai is far from impossible so long as you think outside the box. Maxx 'The Hype' Nitro also placed in the Top 8, cementing himself as a big contender.

The future is looking hella bright, but for now let's reflect on highlights from last week...

next level games

Next Level Games - Denmark

"25 players battled in Pro Quest Next Level Games Denmark for a chance at the upcoming Pro Tour: Los Angeles. A wide roster of heroes showed up - however, once again Lexi showed true dominance, taking home another trophy before she retired. Aside from the usual suspects a Boltyn player managed to claw their way into 2nd seat through an impressive 4-1 record. Overall, the event was a blast and we're excited for the chance to host it once again!"

"We believe we had one of the biggest Pro Quests this season with 65 registered players! The excitement for the event was an at an all time high coming off the big win of Justin Cu from Calling: Taipei. Apart from the competition, the prizes were also uniquely Unbox. We gave a championship belt that was custom made for the winner. We also gave playmat scroll carriers that were handmade by Filipino leather artisans to all participants. All of this made the event a big success and fun for everyone who attended."

"We had 16 players, mostly locals, competing for the Pro Tour: Los Angeles invite and discussing last minute deck selections for World Championship: Barcelona. The field, as always, was stacked with local pro players. Top 4 consisted of Dash, Lexi, and two Iyslanders. In the finals it was Dash piloted by Wojtek Klimczyk who took the win. Wojtek missed Pro Tour: Baltimore so he is eager and happy to have an opportunity to travel to Los Angeles."

At the end of swiss, when the Top 8 was announced, some players who had made it in the last minute could be heard celebrating. Even after the start of the top cut, many players watched the battles between the remaining players, and the moment the winner was decided, there were cheers and excitement."

"We were honored to host players from all over the state to our stores' very first Pro Quest, and they were ready to give it their all for a chance to make it to Pro Tour: Los Angeles! The day started out in a blur as people poured into the shop and everyone was excited to get to know each other and discuss their past Pro Quests and their hopes for the day. We had a great mix of heroes in the arena from all over the world of Rathe. The Dromai crew came out of the gate gunning for Top 8. Lexi was popping up all over the place, acting like a Wizard with those instant speed arrow loads. Our resident Dorinthea main tried to fight back against the Ice queen, but Frostbites kept her tied down and unable to act. We had Arakni and Uzuri on the prowl, trying to prove who the better Assassin really is. Amongst all the excitement and frustration of battle tons of laughs were had and risky plays were made, but smiles were had by all. It seemed like everyone was having a smashing good time as the buzz of the Bright Lights meta ran through the room, energizing everyone to play their best. The Evolution Games crew have been thrilled to go from two employees trying out a new game to running a huge event with people from our budding local community and the Midwest Flesh and Blood playerbase as a whole."

EpicGame - Brazil

"Yesterday at EpicGame we had 50 Flesh and Blood players gathered to play Pro Quest, and we can say that it was the most "EPIC" event in São Paulo. There were six rounds of fun and lots of competition too! Pro Quest Champion Alexandre Castanheira comes every week to play Armory Events at EpicGame and that's why we joke that he's the store's 'gym leader' LOL. The Flesh and Blood players here in Brazil want to thank everyone at LSS for the fantastic work they do making this game, and we would really love for Flesh and Blood cards to come in Portuguese some day, to make it easier teaching new players who don't have as much proficiency with the English language. Also we would love a Calling here in São Paulo! Thanks everyone!"
