Gold Foil prize cards are a special part of FAB collectability. They are unique, in that you can’t get lucky and open them from a booster. There is only one way to originally obtain these coveted items, which is through excellence in organized play.
Gold Foils have existed since the very beginning of Flesh and Blood organized play, with the first season of Calling events awarding a Gold Foil Fyendal’s Spring Tunic to ALL top 8 players! These days, the general framework for how Gold Foils are awarded is:
Type of Gold Foil | Available At |
---|---|
Gold Foil Legendary |
World Championship Pro Tour Calling National Championship (dependent on size of event) Battle Hardened |
Gold Foil Majestic, Rare, Common |
ProQuest Other selected programs |
The Gold Refinery
From time to time we select a curated batch of cards to receive the Gold Foil treatment, which are added to the overall Gold Foil inventory. These cards are produced in very low quantity and any excess copies that exist after Gold Foil grading is complete, are destroyed.
The Gold Foil inventory baselines are:
- Extended Art Legendary - 25*
- Legendary - 40
- Majestic - 60
- Rare - 80
- Common - 100
* Please note that there are 50 Extended Art Gold Foil Fyendal's Spring Tunic in circulation. They were awarded prior to the establishment of the baseline quantities.
Striking Gold!
When you get your hands on one of those coveted little LSS black envelopes, what is the chance of hitting a specific card? Well, we are excited to share that exact data with you!
As each new batch of Gold Foil prize cards is printed and added to the total Gold Foil inventory, it has a diluting effect on the drop rate of each specific card. We intentionally print slightly more Gold Foil cards each batch than will be awarded over the subsequent OP season, so the total Gold Foil inventory pool held by LSS gradually increases, making the drop rates of each specific Gold Foil rarer and rarer over time.
Without further ado, you can see the complete inventory, circulation, drop rate percentage, and accompanying notes in the shiny new Gold Foil page in the Collector's Center.
