We’ve introduced some recent updates to GEM and global and country leaderboards to improve tournament coverage, player ranking accessibility, and keeping in line with player growth.
New feature - Reporting your hero during an event
Players can now self-report the hero they are playing while participating in an event using their GEM profile.
By heading to “Active” events to view match pairings and report match results, a player will find the option to report their hero.
If a player makes an error when reporting their hero, they must speak with the tournament organizer for assistance.
The intention of this feature is to make it easier to report event coverage details (such as meta breakdowns), which previously had to be manually submitted by the tournament organizers.
GEM profile updates
Players will now be able to view their own national and global rankings for ELO and XP directly from their GEM profile on fabtcg.com.
This allows players easier access to their national and global rankings, rather than having to search the main leaderboards.
We have also updated the process by which a player can edit their personal details. This is now locked in your individual account, but if you need to change your name on GEM, you can email op@fabtcg.com.
Leaderboard changes - Recognizing achievements and growth
When we first launched Flesh and Blood the player community was small, and the leaderboards were a relatively concise affair. They were always intended to reflect excellence amongst players, but in the early days the bar was not that high.
As we’ve been recently reviewing the design of the fabtcg.com website, we’ve reflected that a “leaderboard” probably doesn't need to publish the rankings of everyone who ever showed up at an event, but should actually reflect the standings of the current leaders in the game.
As such, we’re making some changes to the leaderboards so that they recognize a high standard of success within the competitive scene.
From now on, each of the global and country leaderboards will only display the top ranked players that are above a certain threshold.
The criteria for being displayed on a leaderboard are:
- Top 32 in a particular country, or;
- 1550+ ELO Rating (for ELO Constructed and ELO Limited leaderboards)
- 500+ XP (for Lifetime XP leaderboards)
- 50+ XP (for 90 Day XP leaderboards)
Players not displayed on the global and country leaderboards will still be able to view their personal statistics and national and global rankings from their GEM account profile.
