We also want to acknowledge those members of the community who have reached out to express their disappointment that they won't be able to make it to the tournament due to it taking place over the Easter weekend. We're really sorry that a number of you aren't going to be able to play due to family commitments, and we can see how upset you are about it.
We did want you to know that our original intent was to come to Poland in February, along with another European Calling in March. However, in December the Omicron outbreak hit, and governments started shutting down events and closing borders right as we were having to commit to the venue contracts. Faced with Utrecht having just been cancelled, and government regulations changing every few days, we felt there was no way we could ask you all to commit to coming to new events with with this level of uncertainty surrounding them. As a result, we decided we needed to push our events back into mid-spring, but with venues already heavily booked and so many other event organisers also trying to move their events, there was only one venue and date available to choose.
So again - we're sorry to our passionate fans that aren't going to be able to make it to the Calling Krakow because the event is booked for Easter, and especially to those in Poland who may be unable to attend an event on their home turf due to other commitments. Our philosophy towards organised play throughout the era of the covid pandemic, has always been to bias towards hosting events whenever we can, but faced with a choice of an Easter weekend event, or not being able to host a European Calling before the Pro Tour, we believe that the right call was to book the venue and deliver the event.
To all of you who are planning to come, we're excited to have you and we've got a few more exciting announcements coming up over the coming weeks as well! For those of you who can't make it, we want you to know that we are planning a whole series of additional major events across Europe through the rest of 2022, so please hang in there!
