Recap: Skirmish Season 8, Week 4

13th Dec 2023 Kasharn Rao

It might be the end of the line for Skirmish Season 8, but it looks like everyone's ready to hop on the steam train! NINE different heroes racked up more than 100 points this season, and with old titans becoming history the Blitz metagame is shaping up to be one hella spicy meatball. Kassai, Briar, and Ira came out on top of the pile, and while the Cintari Sellsword and Crimson Haze have said their goodbyes, Blitz has a new queen, and a thorny one at that!

Despite what Volcor imperial palace officials tell you, the Emperor is very much alive and filling that Wizard-shaped hole reasonably well! Meanwhile, Dash continues to hoon through the Midtown Markets, but be careful - the more you all step on the gas the quicker our darling Mechanlogist will boost into the ranks of Living Legend.

Bright Lights has been a blast for players all over the world, offering innovative and unique gameplay unlike any Flesh and Blood set that has come before. While Teklovossen has cemented respect in the tech industry for his cutting-edge Evos, a few bright sparks and wild rebels have broken the mold.

Let's take a look at some highlights from the final week of Skirmish Season 8...

"With the ascension of Chane, Kano, Kassai, and now even Ira into Living Legend status within the span of a Skirmish season, the throne is finally open for all to take. Heroes like Briar, Dash, Rhinar, and even the Emperor himself were brought to fight for the glorious title by our 18 players. In between Channel Mount Heroic plays and ruthless Bloodrush Bellow lines, a lone Levia and Dash managed to climb their way to the finals after a tough five rounds of swiss. Dash attempted to land as many hits as possible on Levia with chains of Zero to Sixty into Twin Drive and Maximum Velocity before her opponent gets to their Art of War and Bloodrush Bellows. Despite the onslaught, the Shadow Brute managed to survive and cheated death with the aid of her Carrion Husk and Scowling Flesh Bag. Both heroes fought valiantly until a clear winner emerged. Ultimately, Levia took the crown and won the last Skirmish of the season in Malaysia."

1st: Areena Jasmine Yazid - Levia

2nd: Li Xiang Liew - Dash

"21 of the most competitive players that Southern California has to offer gathered to compete for the title of Skirmish Champion. These players included Worlds Finalists, Calling Champions, and many Pro Tour qualified players. In the end it was Andrew Rudin's Briar vs. Tyler Horspool's Dash, Database in the finals of a very diverse event. Andrew landed a Channel Mount Heroic on the very first turn of the game but was not able to capitalize. The game went back and forth until a huge Maximum Velocity + Boom Grenade combo sent the match and the Cold Foil Teklo Core to Tyler."

1st: Tyler Horspool - Dash, Database

2nd: Andrew Rudin - Briar
