Recap: Battle Hardened Los Angeles

28th Jun 2023 Kasharn Rao

More than 140 players dived into battle last weekend in the City of Angels, a fitting location with Dusk till Dawn right around the corner.

The weekend was a slam dunk for Lexi, who dominated Saturday's Battle Hardened and HALF the top cut, ending in a chilling mirror match for the title.

The Elemental Ranger was out in force again on Sunday, claiming another half of the top cut in the PTI event, with another lightning-charged mirror match in the finals.

Battle Hardened

After years of being the underdogs, Rangers have finally been rewarded for their patience, and in a big way! But will they be able to keep their balance when Dusk till Dawn drops?

Although Lexi stole most of the attention, it was a proper send off for Oldhim, who lifted his trusty shield and hammer for one last ride at a Premiere event.

The top cut wasn't without some spice, with Kano and Fai melting through the glaciers to scorch their mark. But it all came down to a Lexi mirror, with the phenomenal young prodigy Brodie Spurlock taking yet another win, and granting Lexi access to the "400 club" on the Living Legend leaderboard.

Brodie may have won the Gold Foil, PTI, and his share of $2000 USD, but you can bet your copper, silver, and gold that he has no intentions of slowing down any time soon! Watch out for this superstar at Nationals and Worlds, it's only a matter of time before he takes home the ultimate title...

Congratulations to Brodie, and to the rest of our Top 8 competitors!

June AGE Open

For those who didn't get enough Classic Constructed on Saturday, the PTI event on Sunday satisfied their hunger.

Lexi laid an absolute smackdown once again, but Oldhim wasn't down for the count either, nabbing another spot in the top cut with the same skilled pilot from the Battle Hardened. We also saw another familiar face - Brodie Spurlock, in the top ranks once again!

This time the top cut had a stronger arcane zest, with Viserai, Iyslander, and Dromai adding some bite to the mix. But nothing could stop the hail of arrows, as Brian Lorenz aimed true in the finals.

Congratulations to Brian, and to the rest of our Top 8 competitors!
