Recap: Battle Hardened Hong Kong

Dec 01, 2022 Legend Story Studios

Legend Story Studios would like to give a huge thank you to the Battle Hardened Hong Kong event organisers and team at Home Run for putting on an incredible event that will be remembered for years to come as well as for writing this riveting recap of the weekend's historic events!

The team here at Home Run were so excited to be invited to hold a Battle Hardened. We are sure this will be one of the iconic moments in the history of Flesh and Blood in Hong Kong.

Time and space are both expensive and scarce here. Fortunately, it turned out that we found the right place with the right pace.

Battle Hardened Hong Kong was held at the Grand Hall of MacPherson Stadium, which has a capacity of 100 people.

For the “iconic” part, we decided to go with some slick FAB backdrops and also an exclusive custom designed “ticket” and water bottle for each participant.

82 players were signed up the event, however the most expected unexpected thing happened, some of the players got COVID19 just before the big day so in the end, 76 players went to battle in round one. Alongside the main event, an epic Shapeshifter Sealed side event was going down.

After seven deadly rounds of Blitz Constructed, we arrived at the Top 8. Remarkably, five of the Top 8 players attended the World Championship in November!

We had some interesting matchups in the Top 4; both a Rhinar and a Dash mirror match!

Powerful Dickson (Dash) defeated Jack Tang (Rhinar) in the finals of the 76 person, Blitz Constructed event to win Battle Hardened Hong Kong 2022!

Dickson is finally crowned as the champion and being so excited, he danced just like the Kung-fu Panda!

Congratulations to the Battle Hardened Hong Kong 2022 Champion, the powerful Dickson!

The next day was Classic Constructed and players were fighting for the precious PTI at the Home Run FABulous card shop. 31 players signed up and we saw a very diverse metagame.

We would like to take the chance to give our gratitude to Mox Saga, HiltopCards and Battleground. These three LGSs worked with us closely for the event and have also contributed to the growth of the local FAB community. We are glad to have Fable Gaming HK's support for the streaming of Battle Hardened Hong Kong and recording the PTI event. The stream can be found in their YouTube Channel, while the PTI video will be featured in The Card Guyz YouTube (shout out to Joshua Lau!)

We would also like to thank our devoted judge team.
