The Calling series is coming to Europe for the first time! All eyes turn to Utrecht in January as players battle it out for the mantle of the best player in Europe.

Legend Story Studios (LSS) and tournamentcenter are proud to announce that The Calling: Utrecht will feature Tales of Aria Classic Constructed! LSS and tournamentcenter have been working hard to offer players a full weekend of high profile events as part of The Calling Weekend in one of Europe's premier TCG event locations.

The Calling: Utrecht will showcase Classic Constructed as the featured gameplay format, while also offering €10,000 of Cash Prizes, Professional Tournament Invitations, and Golden Cold Foil Legendary prize cards!

For players located in Europe, this is your chance to be the author of your own tale and stamp your name in the history books as the first EVER Calling Champion in Europe! With the event timed to be less than two months after the conclusion of European National Championship events, it also provides a great opportunity for players to settle some friendly inter-country rivalries and take the trophy back home.

Friday 14 January 2022 - Battle Hardened

Start off an amazing weekend of 100% great games by teaming up with 2 of your friends and facing off against players from around the world in a Tales of Aria Team Sealed Deck event! Teams comprising of three members each are given a total of 8 Booster Packs to build 3 decks! There will be plenty of prize tickets and bragging rights to be earned in this extremely fun and action-filled format!

This is an open-entry tournament (no invitation or qualification is required, anyone can play!)

Saturday 15 January - Sunday 16 January 2022: The Calling Main Event - Classic Constructed

Put your deck building and playing skills to the test as players compete to etch their name into the history books! Who will rise to the occasion and claim the inaugural title of European Calling Champion? Glory, cash and special prizes await!

This is a Professional-level, open-entry tournament (no invitation or qualification is required, anyone can play!)

Format: Classic Constructed

Rounds:

Day One: 8 Swiss rounds (followed by cut to Top 64 or to all players with records X-2 or better, whichever is higher)
Day Two: 4 Swiss rounds (followed by cut to Top 8)

Top 8 playoff (single elimination)

TOURNAMENT STRUCTURE

Swiss rounds are best of one and will be 50 + 5 minutes in duration.

There will be a cut to the Top 64 players (or to all players with records X-2 or better, whichever is higher) at the conclusion of Round 8. These players from Day 1 will move on to Day 2 to compete for the glory and title of Calling Champion! The format of Day 2 will be Classic Constructed

There will be a cut to Top 8 at the conclusion of the Swiss rounds on Day 2.

Top 8 matches are best of one. Top 8 matches have no time limit. Players are still expected to play at a reasonable pace and Slow Play penalties will be enforced.
For each Top 8 match, the player that finished higher in the Swiss portion of the event chooses to play first or second.

Sunday 16 January 2022 - Pro Tour Invitational (Tales of Aria - Limited)

The path to the biggest stage in Flesh and Blood TCG Organized Play begins with a Pro Tour Invitational. Prize tickets are up for grabs, as well as Cold Foil Heroes to the Top 8 and a Golden Cold Foil Legendary and coveted Professional Tournament Invite (PTI) to the winner!

Whether it's Earth, Ice or Lightning (or any combination of the three), bring your mastery of the Elemental forces to the table and secure your spot in a major upcoming invite-only professional event in 2022!

Format: Tales of Aria Limited - Sealed Deck Swiss rounds and Top 8 Draft.

Additional details:

Deck registration and card pool verification will be performed.
For Sealed Deck, players will have 30 minutes to Register their pool and 30 minutes for Deck Construction.
For Booster Draft, players will have 5 minutes to Register their pool and 15 minutes for Deck Construction.

TOURNAMENT STRUCTURE

Rounds:

Swiss: 6 Swiss rounds of Tales of Aria Sealed Deck (followed by cut to Top 8)
Top 8 playoff: Tales of Aria Draft (single elimination)

Top 8 playoff matches will have no time limit. (Players are still expected to play at a normal pace and complete playoff matches in a reasonable amount of time.)
In the Top 8, the player that finished higher in the Standings during the Swiss rounds chooses either to play first or second.
