Cosplay Update

Cosplay has always been one of the brightest sparks of energy at major Flesh and Blood events. The passion, artistry, and joy that cosplayers bring to the game create unforgettable moments for players and spectators alike. Today, we’re sharing an update for cosplay at Flesh and Blood events, one that celebrates creativity, rewards dedication, and offers some exclusive goodies for everyone who shows up in costume.

Starting from Compendium of Rathe season (London), we will no longer run traditional cosplay contests at marquee events. Instead, we’re shifting to a more immersive, celebratory approach:

At Pro Tours, the World Championship, the United States National Championship, and World Premieres, we will invite cosplayers to be part of the event itself!

Each major event will feature four invited cosplayers, who will:

  • Join us on-site throughout the weekend
  • Participate as special bounties in side events
  • Celebrate alongside the community
  • Receive a paid room during the event (from Wednesday to Monday in case of Pro Tour / World Championship, or Thursday to Monday in case of World Premiere / United States National Championship / others)
  • Receive 1 Cold Foil Frankie, Make Ends Meat, and additional goodies (packages, cosplay participation cards, promo cards, etc)

To continue celebrating excellence while also welcoming rising stars and newcomers, the four invitations for each event will follow this structure:

  • One top-tier cosplayer – someone with exceptional craftsmanship who has earned the respect of the community
  • One to two accomplished cosplayers – creators who have experience building great cosplays
  • One to two emerging cosplayers – someone who is new to the community and wants to join the festivities

Cosplayers who wish to be considered will be able to fill out an application form listing interest in these major events, and potentially some smaller events that may invite one or two cosplayers. Attending events in costume regularly, showcasing exceptional creativity and quality, or bringing something connected to the current set/season, are all great ways of improving your chances of being selected.

By the end of 2026, a minimum of 28 cosplayers will have received a Cold Foil Frankie, Make Ends Meat.

Even if you’re not one of the four selected cosplayers, we want to make sure you are still recognized and rewarded for your efforts. Starting after London, all cosplayers who attend the event in costume will receive:

  • Free entry to the Saturday evening Promo Event
  • The brand new Cosplay Pack

The Cosplay Pack contains exclusive cards to build a Frankie, Make Ends Meat deck, including the chance to open a Rainbow Foil version of Frankie herself!

We will come together 30 minutes before the Promo Event begins to take photos and videos of your cosplays, and to share in a celebration of your hard work and talent. Your contribution to making the weekend a truly incredible experience for everyone who attends is important and significant, and it deserves to be seen and appreciated.

The old rules still apply:

  • All costumes must be related to Flesh and Blood characters or cards.
  • All cosplayers must meet 30 minutes prior to the start of the Promo Event on Saturday to have their costume photographed and receive their prizes.
  • Each costume must be hand-made. Prefabricated store-bought, commissioned, or rented costumes (or props) are still NOT permitted. It is expected that some costumes may include minor elements such as wigs, shoes, or fabric that have been purchased. As a general rule, at least 75% of what you bring to the event must be hand-made.
  • No real weapons or harmful items are allowed to be used. This includes, but is not limited to: firearms, incendiary devices, tasers, laser devices, metal swords, knives, daggers, etc. Prop weapons need to be inoperable weapons that only support the look of your costume.

We can’t wait to see you all in your incredible outfits, in the Flesh and Blood.
