"Strategy, Skill, and Resilience!

Flesh and Blood Skirmish Season 11 showcased intense battles, with Levi Gott and Matthew Angove delivering standout performances.

In Round 1, Levi Gott playing Oscilio faced off against Dorinthea, Quicksilver Prodigy. Dorinthea took the first swing with a Goblet of Bloodrun Wine, Sharpened Steel, and Dawnblade, Resplendent. Levi chose not to block, bringing his life down to 13. He played Sigil of Brilliance in the end phase, using Oscilio to filter an Electromagnetic Somersault out of his hand.

On Turn 1, Levi played Entwine Lightning, followed by Flittering Charge, and pumped it to 7 with Lightning Press. He then added 6 arcane damage with Aether Quickening and Waning Moon. On Turn 2, with Storm Striders, Levi unleashed Comet Storm // Shock and Waning Moon, applying relentless pressure and securing the victory!

Levi’s playstyle demonstrated excellent resource management and timing, allowing him to outmaneuver his opponent.

Matthew Angove's journey to victory was nothing short of extraordinary. After a loss to Zac Whyte in Round 1, Angove thought his tournament run was over, stating, “Thought I was done and dusted after losing Round 1 to Zac Whyte, only to submarine to the win.” However, he made a stunning comeback, working his way through the tournament to claim first place.

Interestingly, throughout Matthew’s swiss run, he didn’t get to activate Verdance’s hero ability once. However, the ability came in clutch in his final match against Kayo, grasping victory for the ‘Queen of Summer’.

Skirmish Season 11 was a thrilling testament to the depth of strategy in Flesh and Blood. Levi Gott’s precise tactics with Oscilio and Matthew Angove’s inspiring comeback highlighted the game's complexity and excitement. As Angove said, “submarine to the win” shows that in Flesh and Blood, anything can happen."

Verdance

Verdance!

"This was the first Skirmish event we held at our store. We were worried that we wouldn't be able to hold the event with just 7 people, but we had a great turnout with 19 participants. We prepared lots of prizes for the top scorers and for the random prize draw. We decided to give the winner a set of Ira playmats and sleeves.

We were also delighted that one of the participants was Yutaro Yamada, the winner of Battle Hardened: Kobe, who is still fresh in the memories of players (he comes to this store to play Armory, which is great). There were also players who came with their families. It's wonderful that parents and children can play together with the same hobby. The fact that strong players are participating also motivates other players. In reference to the recently released marked mechanic from The Hunted, we decided to give a GEM Pack to any players who beat Yamada.

Today's metagame had 4 Aurora, making her the most powerful force. There were many heroes that we don't usually see, so it was a metagame that was not biased, and it was possible for any hero to make it to the Top 8 or even win. Perhaps due to the latest Banned and Restricted Announcement, there were no Zen players. The hero that caught our eye the most was Dorinthea, Quicksilver Prodigy.

Yamada-san was of course using his reliable hero Aurora, and we couldn't help but expect great things from him.

The atmosphere during swiss was very good and was full of smiles. There were no major problems and everything went smoothly. After the Top 8 was announced, it was time for the long-awaited distribution of the random prizes! We gave out lots of playmats, promo cards, and packs! It is our mission to make sure that even the players who didn't make it into the Top 8 went home with a smile on their face.

The most exciting scene of the final tournament was probably the Top 8 battle between Kayo and Data Doll MKII. The wave of items that lined the board in large numbers were swallowed up and crushed Kayo!

The final match was Yutaro Yamada's Aurora vs Futatsuishi Yuuki's Verdance. Will the Lightning flash of Aurora, the most powerful force, run through? Will Verdance, the great power of nature, swallow up Aurora?

The final match began in a good atmosphere with smiles all around. The two players continued to attack and defend in turns, and it looked like Aurora was gaining the upper hand, but Verdance didn't miss the chance to attack when Aurora made a mistake! They activated Storm Striders, played Rampant Growth // Life, and sent arcane damage flying, burning Aurora to the ground. The winner of the tournament was Verdance, played by Futatsuishi Yuuki!

The first Skirmish tournament held at our store was a great success, and ended without any major problems. If we can hold another tournament next time, we hope that lots of players will take part and have a smile on their faces."

1st: Futatsuishi Yuuki - Verdance
2nd: Yutaro Yamada - Aurora
