World Tour Points – 2026 Update

Defining the World Tour Program Year

The 2025 World Tour Program Year started from Battle Hardened: Hiroshima and finishes at World Championship: Philadelphia.

The 2026 World Tour Program Year starts from Calling: Philadelphia and finishes at the 2026 World Championship.

Moving forward, World Tour Points will be associated with the season in which they were awarded. Seasons are related to the current standalone booster set release at the time of the tournament. So far, there have been four seasons since the inception of World Tour Points. Seasons run from the date of the World Premiere for that product, until the next product’s World Premiere. Here is an overview of past, current, and upcoming seasons:

Seasonal metrics have no impact on rankings for the World Tour Player of the Year race, but they are relevant for determining Pro Tour and World Championship qualification.

Pro Play Qualification

World Tour Points replaces ELO Rating (Overall) as the way that professional Flesh and Blood players are ranked. Starting with Pro Tour: Yokohama, top ranked players will be invited based on their accumulated World Tour Points. For Pro Tour: Yokohama specifically, in order to keep things simple, World Tour Points ranking based invitations will be determined by the final standings from the 2025 World Tour Program Year (November 9, 2024 – November 16, 2025).

Moving forward, World Tour Points ranking based invitations will be determined by a player’s accumulated World Tour Points for the current ongoing season, as well as the two most recent previous completed seasons.

For example, invitations to Pro Tour #9 (July 2026) will be issued immediately following Pro Tour: Yokohama (April 9-12, 2026), and will be comprised of World Tour Points accumulated from these date ranges:

  • PEN season (current ongoing season, February 6, 2026 – April 12, 2026)
  • SUP season (previous completed season, September 12, 2025 – February 5, 2026)
  • SEA season (previous completed season, May 23, 2025 – September 11, 2025)

This calculation is designed to reflect a player’s performance across the most recent 8-11 months.

For Pro Tour: Yokohama, World Tour Points ranking based invitations will be issued to players who are ranked:

  • Top 50 Global
  • Top 25 Asia-Pacific Region

Ranking based invitations do not pass down, are non-transferable, and expire if not used. As this system is new, we will continue to evaluate the thresholds for issuing ranking based invitations. It is important that these invitations are relevant and we will monitor their effectiveness.

It is also our intention to continue providing region-based incentives in recognition of players within the region where the tournament is being held. Pro Tour: Yokohama qualification includes Asia-Pacific region invitations, so you can also expect a Pro Tour or World Championship held in Europe to include Europe region invitations, and the same with the Americas. We want to reward players for their strong performance with more pathways to qualifying for the tournament being held in their home turf.

World Tour Points Distribution

Starting from PEN season (February 6, 2026), World Tour Points awarded by tournament will be adjusted. Points are more closely aligned to typical prize breaks, and reflect changes to the frequency and type of tournaments on offer in 2026.

From PEN season onwards, the World Tour and World Tour Points are simply composed of tournaments which take place at the World Championship, Pro Tour, and Calling level. Moving forward, there are four tournament types which award World Tour Points: World Championship, Pro Tour, Calling, and Showdown. You might be wondering what a Showdown is, but that’s a story for after the Keynote in Philadelphia.
