As dusk consumes the day, the Demonastery's otherworldly Shadow hordes tear through the dimenxxional rift, hellbent on the destruction of Solana. Yet in their darkest hour, allies emerge in unity alongside the valiant defenders of Light, in hope of once more seeing in the break of dawn.
Dusk till Dawn is a 10 card booster pack that returns to the conflict between Light and Shadow and sees the return to gaming tables of fan favorite Light Illusionist and Shadow Runeblade heroes whose predecessors have attained Living Legend status.
To celebrate, War of the Monarch Pre-release Weekend will run world wide from July 7th-9th, giving players the opportunity to experience the origin of the Light vs Shadow conflict with Monarch booster draft, and get their hands on Dusk till Dawn prize packs a week before release... in addition to a chance to win one of the most beautiful Cold Foil hero cards we have ever made!
What is the War of the Monarch Pre-release Weekend?
Dusk till Dawn sees Flesh and Blood return to the battle between light and shadow, the War of the Monarch which began with the release of our Monarch Booster Set back in May 2021. Monarch released at a time when most regions were heavily impacted by the Covid pandemic and many players never had the chance to participate in a Monarch pre-release event or in most cases, never experience Monarch limited play at all. Therefore War of the Monarch Pre-release Weekend is a chance for all players, new and veterans alike, to have another chance to experience the limited format of this iconic set, and its fan favourite heroes Chane, Levia, Prism & Boltyn.
It also designed to get fans engaged with the War of the Monarch story arc. This will be supported by broader marketing initiatives from LSS that bring fans into the midst of the War of the Monarchs conflict, that is at the heart of the epic story unfolding within the world of Rathe.... with Dusk till Dawn being a pivotal moment in time.
What is the Format for War of the Monarch Pre-release Weekend?
Monarch Booster Draft is the format for this event.
Why is this not Dusk till Dawn draft or sealed deck?
Dusk till Dawn is a 10 card supplementary booster set. It is not compatible for sealed deck or booster draft formats.
Entry fee?
Stores can charge up to USD30 / EUR30 / GBP30 / CAD45 / AUD45 / NZD45 or local currency equivalent. If you choose not to offer the optional Dusk till Dawn booster prizing for your event, then we recommend charging a slightly lower entry fee. (If it's normal in the territory for sales tax to be applied to the marketed price at the point of purchase, sales tax may be charged in addition to the prices stated here.)
Can I add prizes to the prize pool?
Stores are free to add any additional prize support they deem necessary.
Dates
What is the event window?
Friday, 7th July 2023, 3 PM - Sunday 9th July 2023 local time. Events can be sanctioned now!
Is there any flexibility on the event dates?
Events must be run in this window. If your store encounters unforeseen delays or circumstances which prevent the event from being hosted as planned please contact op@fabtcg.com for further assistance.
How will I know if my store is selected for War of the Monarch Pre-release Weekend?
Stores will receive an email invitation to notify them that the option for War of the Monarch Pre-release Weekend will appear in GEM when creating a new event.
There will be 2 waves of invitations for this event going out.
- The first wave will be from May 2nd 2023 and stores will have until Friday 12th May to sanction their events in GEM.
- The second wave of invitations will sent from May 18th 2023 and stores will have until May 31st to sanction their event in GEM.
If you have not been selected as part of the Wave 1 event solicitations and would like to express interest in hosting an event, you can complete this form to provide us your details. Please note that Wave 2 allocations will be very limited, so completing the form does not guarantee that you will be able to host an event.
Prize and Distribution
How is the prize kit going to be supplied?
The prize kit will be supplied by your distributor, please contact your sales representative to ensure that your store is eligible and to order the War of the Monarch Pre-release Weekend Kit and purchase Monarch Unlimited boosters to use in your events. No stores may receive more than 1 prize kit.
What is in the kit?
The War of the Monarch Pre-release Weekend kit is designed to provide prize support for 4x 8 person draft pods and includes the following:
- 2 COLD FOIL Dusk till Dawn Prism, Advent of Thrones Hero Card
- 2 COLD FOIL Dusk till Dawn Vynnset Hero Card
- 33 Herald of Ravages (Rainbow Foil) extended art promo cards.
- Monarch Token Pack (for operational purposes)
How to use the War of the Monarch Pre-release Weekend kit materials:
- The winner of each draft pod should receive either 1 of the Cold Foil hero cards at random
- Each of the 8 participants in the draft pod should receive a Herald of Ravages (Rainbow Foil) extended art promo card as a participation award
- If you choose to run less than 4 draft pods across the weekend, the remaining Cold Foil hero cards should be given away as random prize draws (to someone who has not already received a Cold Foil prize card).
- The Monarch Token Pack is for use during the event to give players access to the Hero and Weapon tokens required to play the event.
Please note that participating stores will only receive 1 War of the Monarch Pre-release Weekend Kit, which supports prizes for a maximum of 4x 8 person draft pods.
Optional Booster Pack Prize Support
We are excited to announce that War of the Monarch Pre-release Weekend will be the first opportunity for players to get their hands on cards from the Dusk till Dawn booster set releasing on July 14th. Stores participating in War of the Monarch Draft Weekend may purchase a maximum of 1 booster case of Dusk till Dawn as additional prize support for their events. The purchase of this additional prize support is optional for all participating stores and stores must confirm their prize support order with their distributor.
Distribution of this optional booster pack prize support is at the discretion of individual stores and we recommend that stores clearly advertise the prize support for their events prior to and during the War of the Monarch Pre-release Weekend. Please note that Dusk till Dawn boosters must not be sold under any circumstances prior to the official street release date (July 14) and stores will not receive their regular Dusk till Dawn booster stock from distributors until the week of release.
Event Structure
War of the Monarch Pre-release Weekend is intended to be a casual, friendly experience of the Monarch booster draft format, which is why the prize kit distribution is allocated per draft pod (to a maximum of 4x 8 person draft pods), rather than a defined event structure like our usual in-store organised play programs. Stores may structure their booster drafts to suit their store capacity and local community, including running multiple smaller events or a larger event with multiple draft rounds and a top 8 utilizing the optional booster pack prize support.
If you choose to run less than 4 draft pods across the weekend, the remaining Cold Foil hero cards should be given away as random prize draws (to someone who has not already received a Cold Foil prize card).
Can stores run multiple events?
Yes, stores can use their prize kit to support multiple events across the War of the Monarch Pre-release Weekend. For example stores may run up to 4x 8 person draft events across different different days of the weekend or 2x 16 person draft events on the same day.
Can stores run a large event?
Yes, stores can use their kit to run a single large, more competitive booster draft event, up to a maximum of 32 players. If running a larger event with multiple draft rounds then the distribution of the prize kit materials should be made at the end of the 3rd swiss round to the players in each pod, prior to the next draft pod round being generated.
RULES & POLICY
Are Judges required for War of the Monarch Pre-release Weekend events?
Judges are not required and we do not provide Judge support for these events. However, Judges bring many benefits to your event. If you have access to one we would recommend having one in attendance.
What happens if there is a rules question that I cannot answer?
Release notes for Monarch are available here If you are unable to answer a question after referring to the notes, just try your best to make a ruling that is fair to both players. Ultimately we view War of the Monarch Pre-release Weekend as fun/casual events so a positive player experience should be the main goal of the event.

The earliest that a Friday War of the Monarch Pre-release Weekend event can start is 3 pm local time.
Are there any suggested start times for events?
Because there may be other stores running events in your area on the same day we would suggest you communicate with them to coordinate events.
Our suggested timings are as followed:
- Friday - From 3 pm onward.
- Saturday and Sunday- Morning Events 10 am start - Afternoon Events 2 pm start (you may start before these times)
When should I receive my War of the Monarch kit? What do I do if I haven’t received it?
Prize kits should arrive in your store early in the week beginning Monday 3rd July , however with shipping delays worldwide for any questions regarding delivery, please contact your distributor.
When can we pre-order Dusk till Dawn booster stock?
Dusk till Dawn will be available to order from your distributors very soon, please contact your sales representatives for more details.
If I don't open a particular hero or weapon token, does this mean I can't play with them?
Each War of the Monarch Pre-release Weekend kit will come with Hero and Weapons tokens included.

Selling Product
If my event doesn’t sell out am I able to sell the spare boosters/booster boxes from my optional prize support?
Any remaining unused/spare boosters/booster boxes from your optional Dusk till Dawn prize support must not be sold under any circumstances prior to the official street release date, or distributed as prizing at any events outside of the War of the Monarch Pre-release Weekend events prior to the official street release date.
Can I sell the prize cards that I receive in the kit if I am unable to run my event?
Prize cards must not be sold under any circumstances. If you are unable to run your event, please contact us op@fabtcg.com
Final Words
War of the Monarch Pre-release Weekend events are casual events and a chance to introduce new players to the community. When you are running and judging events, please be friendly and polite towards players and encourage them to act in the same way.
If there are rules breaches, we would encourage you to assume good faith on behalf of the players, do your best to correct the game state so the match can continue, and use the situation as a learning opportunity to teach the players about the game.
