As the Delta variant of Covid continues to spread worldwide we understand that rules move fast, and that we support stores taking sensible measures to comply with the law and to keep the community safe.
We present the following options for the upcoming Tales of Aria pre-release - September 17th - 19th.
1- At home pre-releases.
At home releases allow players to pick up or have their pre-release kits shipped to them so they can play at home. In GEM you should edit your event to become an open play session with no rounds. Then enter the player id of players picking up their kits or having them shipped out.
Kits cannot be picked up before 3pm Friday the 17th September and cannot be shipped out before this date. Stores using this option may release pre-release product on the Friday even if their event was scheduled for Saturday or Sunday.
2- Online Pre-releases
Stores can run online events over discord using webcam play. Events can be run as normal through GEM.
Kits cannot be picked up before 3pm Friday the 17th September and cannot be shipped out before this date. This may mean that your event is run on a day different than your normally scheduled date. Stores using this option may release pre-release product on the Friday even if their event was scheduled for Saturday or Sunday.
3- Podded events
In the case that your store can run events but at a restricted capacity. You may run multiple pods. The pod size could be eight players and you would create an additional pre-release event in GEM to support each pod. If you were awarded one pre-release bundle you could do two 8 player pods, two bundles = four 8 player pods.
Stores are responsible for providing all prizes for these events. Cold Foil cards should be given out as they normally would. In the case of playmats for at-home events, these should be randomly given out.
If your store has any questions about these measures please contact the team at OP@fabtcg.com so we can help you.
