Champion Catchup: 山村翔馬

プロツアー：ロンドン開催まで、あとたった数週間。前回のプロツアーチャンピオンに、来たるべき大トーナメントへの思いをインタビューする。山村翔馬は2024年のプロツアー：アムステルダムにおいて、《流転の鋭刃、ウズリ》を駆り、ベテラン強豪プレイヤー、Bartosz Ziembaと《目的を手懐ける者、ゼン》を破り、優勝を果たした。誰も予想していなかったヒーローを持ち込んだことで、山村は他の競合プレイヤーに対し大きな脅威となり、世界の舞台における日本初のビッグタイトルを獲得した。しかも、これが彼にとって初めての海外遠征だったのだ。

プロツアー：アムステルダムから人生はどのように変わったでしょうか？

会場で声をかけてもらう機会が増えました。
一番嬉しかったのは、わたしの優勝を見てフレッシュ＆ブラッドを始めたという人が居たことですね。
これより嬉しいことはありません。

I’ve had more opportunities to talk to people. The happiest thing for me was that more people started playing Flesh and Blood after seeing me win. I couldn’t be happier.

賞金の使い道は？

フレッシュ＆ブラッドの国内供給を増やすため、大半はわたしが運営しているお店に投資しました。
それとお店のトイレを改修しました。
あとは妻の為に電子レンジを新しく買ったくらいですね笑

I invested most of it in the local game store I run to increase the domestic supply of Flesh and Blood. I also renovated the store’s toilets. I also just bought a new microwave for my wife, lol.

プロツアー：ロンドンで最も楽しみにしていることは何でしょう？

トッププレイヤーたちとまた最高の舞台で戦えることです！
今回は 二連覇がかかっています。前回の自分に対するチャレンジが成功するかどうかも楽しみですね。
ロンドンを観光できるのもとても楽しみです。わたしが読んだ小説やみた映画で何回も舞台になっているので憧れがあります。

To be able to compete against top players on the biggest stage again! This time, I’m aiming for my second consecutive victory. I’m looking forward to seeing whether my challenge to myself from last time will be successful. I’m also looking forward to seeing London. I’ve always admired London because it’s the setting for so many novels I’ve read and movies I’ve seen.

プロツアー：ロンドンを優勝するのはどのヒーローだと思いますか？

『混転の餌食（The Hunted）』 環境はいろいろなヒーローが各地で活躍しているので予想するのは難しいですね。
あえて言うなら、結果を出している《シンドラ》が最有力候補でしょう。
ただし本命はわたしが二連覇するのでわたしが使用するヒーローです！！

It’s difficult to predict The Hunted environment because so many different heroes are powerful and performing well. If I had to say, Cindra, who has produced good results, would be the most likely candidate. However, since I’m going to win for the second time in a row, it’ll be the hero I’m using!!

『混転の餌食（The Hunted）』のブースタードラフトについて、どう思いますか？

今回のドラフトもとても楽しいです！！
個人的には『霧隠の秘境（Part the Mistveil）』と同じ感覚でプレイできています。
わたしにとって、暗殺者クラスのヒーローがセット内に存在することはとても重要です笑

This Booster Draft set is very fun!! Personally, I can play it with the same feeling as Part the Mistveil. For me, it is very important that an Assassin hero is in the set, lol.

プロツアーチャンピオンとして、新たにフレッシュ＆ブラッドを始めるプレイヤーたちにアドバイスはありますか？

プロツアーチャンピオンになったのは、わたしが初めて競技的なイベントに参加してからわずか半年間後のことでした。
すべてのプレイヤーにチャンスがあります。ぜひ競技的なイベントに参加してみてください。
このゲームは性質上、独自の戦略や採用したカードが結果に表れやすいと思います。
わたしが優勝したときの《ウズリ》は自分ひとりで考え信じ貫いてきた独自のスタイルでした。

I became a Pro Tour Champion just six months after participating in my first competitive event. Every player has a chance to win. Please try participating in these competitive events. Due to the nature of this game, I think that your unique strategies and card choices are likely to be reflected in your results. When I won, I was using a unique playstyle that I had personally decided on and believed in. Create your own strategy and challenge the players waiting for you in the Flesh and Blood. Your challenge will take Flesh and Blood to a new level, like it did for me.
