The Calling: Melbourne

With the recent emergence of COVID community cases in different areas of Australia, we wanted to provide players with an update regarding The Calling: Melbourne.

It was our hope when we rescheduled the event that the new date would allow for Melbourne to get clear of the outbreak and host an event that everyone in the Australian Flesh and Blood TCG community would have an opportunity to attend. A number of states have gone into some form of lockdown recently, with some restrictions still in place in Melbourne itself. Importantly, there are significant density restrictions in place limiting the number of people that can attend an event, alongside the evolving situation with the Granites gold mine and various state government responses to that outbreak.

As previously, we want to give players as much advance notice as possible to allow them to alter their travel, accommodation and work leave plans. We are monitoring the situation daily and will make an announcement on Friday 2 July with a decision on whether The Calling will go ahead as scheduled or be postponed to a later date. This decision will be based on the ability to hold a safe and successful event, including factors such as:

  • The ability to hold the event in the venue that is booked given density restrictions
  • The likelihood of players from other parts of Australia being able to travel to the event
  • Any updates provided by the Australian State and Federal governments regarding COVID cases, lockdown measures, and recommended health and safety guidelines.

We are very sorry to see the outbreaks that are continuing to affect Australia. To everyone in the community over there - stay safe, we appreciate your support, and we are going to make sure there is a The Calling event for you to play in!
